Reflections from EXPO Hannover and What’s Next

Like every year, preparing for the Tire Technology Expo in Hannover brought great energy to our Black Donuts team—and this year was no exception. As one of the leading global events for tire industry professionals, the Expo provided a powerful platform to connect with fellow decision-makers, explore potential collaborations, and catch up with long-standing partners.

This year, we were proud to showcase a new promotional video featuring three core developments:

  • OnTire – Our advanced tire plant simulation service
  • FEA Services – Tailored simulation solutions for tire manufacturers
  • InTire Labs – Introducing our newest division and its range of services

Although fewer people attended the event than in previous years—something many exhibitors also noted—the quality of conversations more than made up for it. At our booth, we had meaningful discussions, answered thoughtful technical questions, and saw strong interest in our digital and engineering capabilities across the tire manufacturing lifecycle.

Tomi Pekkola, Vice President and Director of Sales and Marketing at Black Donuts, shared his thoughts on this year’s EXPO.

“Still, we were glad to meet the right people, genuinely interested in our solutions. One trend that really stood out was the increasing focus on replacing fossil-based materials, which was top of mind for many attendees. While there weren’t any groundbreaking new technologies, we saw valuable improvements to existing ones. As always, meeting industry colleagues and friends face-to-face was a real highlight. And the photo booth turned out to be a great success, adding a fun and memorable touch to the event.”

We sincerely thank everyone who visited us— tire development experts, factory planners, and simulation specialists from across Asia, the USA, Africa, and Europe. If we missed your message or haven’t followed up yet, feel free to contact our team directly—we’d be glad to continue the conversation.

What’s next for us?

We’re now fully focused on the official launch of InTire Labs, and we will share more details in the coming weeks.

At the same time, we’ve significantly enhanced our FEA simulation services, enabling us to evaluate tire designs virtually across a wide range of real-world scenarios before physical testing begins. This capability comes from our deep knowledge and hands-on experience in every step of the analysis, product development, and physical testing.

Looking ahead, our team will attend the Global Polymer Summit in Cleveland, Ohio, from September 8 to 11. If you’re planning to attend, we’d love to connect! Visit us at Booth #815 (Exhibit Halls A–C) to exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations.

More updates are on the way — thank you for being part of our journey. Let’s stay connected.
